That’s Cool But Can You Make It More Sh*t?

29th July 2010

I’ve been listening to LCD Soundsystem a lot lately. I wish I was in Sydney again because I’d go and see their retrospective with DFA Records. They’ve got all kinds of weird and wonderful artwork from albums, scribbles on napkins, photos and sketches…

“That’s Cool But Can You Make It More Sh*t?” is on until August 2nd in Sydney, then moves to NY and London.

AMS @ DSM

23rd July 2010

Hooray! My favourite knitwear label AMS have just gone and got their first collection stocked at Dover Street Market.

Danny Sangra’s bold, graphic prints combined with the exquisite knit designs of the lovely Lynnda Needles make up their colourful 2010 Collection. The bright cardigans, jumpers and socks are amazing and the blankets are simply beautiful (yes please!) … and if that’s not enough, their look book was shot by the über-talented Miss Yael Fachler.

Watch this space – these guys are going far.

Da Bomb

21st July 2010

These flower grenades are starting a revolution! Whether you like gardening or like the idea but are just too lazy – all you need to do is throw and wait for them to grow. Within a couple of weeks there’ll be flowers popping up all over that derelict parking lot you have to walk past everyday on your way to work. Amazing!

Another fun design by Suck UK, these are going on my christmas list for sure.

Neon Friday

16th July 2010

To round off a week of letters I found this amazing neon light alphabet by Berlin designers, Bank.

I love it because it’s neon and because the entire alphabet is made from a single piece of tube. How amazing! Depending on how you hold it, depends on which letter of the alphabet you create. Design genius at it’s best.

Bad Kitty

13th July 2010

These bad-ass Hello Kitty’s are by New Zealander, Joseph Senor. They’re still only conceptual, but he’s come up with an entire collection. Check out the rest on his MySpace page.

My favourite is GunDamKitty – she looks like she’d fire lasers out of her eyes if you pissed her off. Too cool.
