R.I.P. Corinne Day

After a weekend away with no phones or computers I was so sad to read this morning that Corinne Day passed away last Friday.
I was about 12 years old when I first discovered something called fashion, and that there was a world where all the beautiful girls had their photos taken by cool photographers and looked wild and pretty and exciting. I loved it and it was all because of Corinne Day. She was always my favourite photographer and because of her I fell in love with Kate Moss and London and Vogue.
Her photography has influenced, inspired and launched a thousand careers and she’ll always be remembered through her beautiful, grungy fashion photographs.

A sunny Cape Town Friday inspired me to post these. Capetonian Adam Hill makes wicked posters. Posters for bands, posters for gigs, posters for clubs. I’m on the lookout for one stuck to a wall somewhere so I can grab it! I especially liked these 2 – There’s something quite cool about birds in graphic design.
