I just stumbled across these beautiful photographs by Alysia Cotter. Apparently it’s a technique called through the lens, which is accomplished by using a digital camera to shoot through a vintage Duaflex camera. I think they look awesome – the colours are amazing and they evoke such sweet, calm feelings.

From the 1st July to the 31st August, residents of Madrid going on holiday can rest easy that their plants are being well cared for, by checking them into Hotel Para Plantas at the Isla Azul Shopping Center.
The brainchild of experiential marketing agency Ogilvy Action, plant owners can drop off their leafy friends for a free full-board and have them looked after by a team of professional botanists. All “guests” are given special treatment to suit their needs, there are security cameras to make sure your plants aren’t neglected and audio downloads available to stimulate growth and scare off pests!
Functionally the campaign aims to drive more customers to the shopping center with positive PR and a chance for shoppers to win €500 when they register their details. Very clever.
I wish we had a plant hotel in Cape Town.

Tillim spent a year photographing life in French Polynesia and although I’m not a huge fan of what I’ve seen of it online so far, I’m intrigued to pop down and see what the prints look like in person.
Somehow I imagine they’re going to be very big and so then we can see if big really is (almost always) better…

Surprisingly I found the top photo by Lizelle Lotter in my wedding website wanderings and it reminded me of the bottom picture I shot in Uruguay.

Not just a pretty app! Daisy Disk scans your computer and displays your content in beautiful and colourful interative maps, meaning you can easily find large useless files that you no longer need and get rid of them to create more space.
28GB of space freed up and I can’t stop clicking around it (and did I mention the awesome icon as well??)

Cape Town Tourism and 10and5 joined forces to curate a South African illustrators poster exhibition that were selling for half price on CityMob last week.
This poster is by Bruce Mackay and it sums up for me a perfect Saturday morning in Cape Town – head to Neighbourgoods for a coffee and a wander!
Unfortunately I can’t find anywhere online that’s still selling them for full or half price. Does anyone know where I can buy one?
You can have a look at the rest of the exhibition on CityMob here.

This cute illustration by Yasmine Surovec is exactly how my brain feels after a day of builders drilling on my roof and then having to mop up water dripping through my lights, caused by the holes they’re drilling up there. Yuk!
Check out more on her blog A Print A Day.

Oh my. Have you ever seen a more beautiful icon?
I know I’m a sucker for all things Mac – but it’s just so shiny and lovely I couldn’t help myself!

One day I would love to be able to build a prefab house. ‘Sommerhaus Piu’ by Patrick Frey and Björn Götte would be an amazing weekend getaway.
Clean lines + elegant structure + white walls + wood + massive verandah = Perfect.

I love tea towels, especially cute graphic ones like this Kokeshi one by Peris and Corr. It makes drying up so much more fun!

I’ve just spent the better part of the last hour looking through the awesome blog Mini-eco.
It’s packed with super cool craft projects for kids (& adults) and is so colourful and fun I just want to ditch work to go home and get crafty! Be sure to check out these amazing garden bird feeders…
