I’ll leave you with these beautiful images over the weekend.
Kim Keever’s Abstract series is just divine.
I would absolutely love one for our wall.

Here’s a little shout out and congratulations to the lovely Maha on the launch of her and her sister’s new book!
Maha and her sister Sally Obermeder, founder of awesome Aussie blog swiish have just released their e-book, Super Green Smoothies. It’s full of colourful photos and yummy sounding recipes, and after buying a copy this afternoon I’m so excited to try them all out.
These 2 gorgeous ladies have somehow managed to make kale, spinach and brussel sprout smoothies sound sexy. I’m impressed!

I have a bit of a thing for images of mouths by Rankin so I was happy to find these (2012) ads for French WeightWatchers.
So stylish, sexy and French. Although they make me want to eat sweets so I’m not sure how convincing they work as advertising.

Here’s a happy start to Monday morning. DIY Emoji Balloons. Aren’t they amazing?
Check out the cutest tutorial ever on Studio DIY on how to make your own.
I love that Kelly (the founder of Studio DIY) is so obsessed about these little guys that they’re now living in her car because her better half Jeff won’t let them back in the house! Awww!

These images by Simen Johan from his Until the Kingdom Comes series have left me breathless.
It seems this work has been around for a while and the Scandanavian born, New Yorker actually exhibited this series last year, but like everything internet related it’s come around again and I’m so pleased it has!
His attention to detail and his image manipulation is divine and I can’t wait to receive his book that I just ordered.
Until the Kingdom Comes was published this year with a limited run of 750. If you’re feeling flush, shell out for the special edition, 75 copies, signed and boxed.

Don’t you think this painting by Australian artist Ollie Lucas is very Between the Neon and the Sea?
Check out more of his work here.

I heart Suzelle!
I found one of Suzelle’s DIY videos this afternoon and I haven’t been able to stop watching her.
Her DIY tips are funny, inspiring and (somewhat surprisingly) useful. I’ve been laughing all afternoon!
One of my favourites – How to peel a lot of apples.

Back in July my amazing BFF Laura and one of her lovely friends Chloe, organised and ran a 4 week art course every Saturday morning in London’s Kennington Park.
Picassos in the Park is aimed at 5 – 10 year olds and inspires the budding little artists to get creative through painting, drawing and collage. Each week focuses on a new artist and so far they’ve explored Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet and of course, Picasso.
The first course was so successful they’re running a second course beginning tomorrow. If you’d like more information check out their Facebook page or send them an email … and to see some of the cute artworks from July’s course have a look at Laura’s blog – Cellandia at home.
The thought of learning about art for the first time and experiencing the excitement of creating a masterpiece makes me wish I was 5 years old again!
Good luck with your new course girls! x

I meant to write about Australian sculptor and artist Dion Horstmans a long time ago but at usual, got distracted somewhere along the way…
The good news is however, that yesterday one of my all time favourite websites The Design Files featured Dion’s home and reminded me to show you guys how awesome his work is. I absolutely love his geometric sculptures and the fact that are a lot of them are neon is an added bonus!
If you have a minute take a look at Dion’s work (Bub, I’m thinking 3rd year anniversary art…?!) and be sure to check out the amazing stuff happening over at The Design Files. The designers, brands, products and homes they feature are the ultimate in design inspiration.

I’ve had a bit of a thing for carafé sets recently, after picking up an amazing little vintage set while we were in France.
This Ash set in white by London store Bib&Sola is also pretty special.

On the 18th of August my Nana turned 90 years old. I can’t even imagine being 50, let alone 90.
For her birthday we sent her this Pichulik Brass Braid necklace. I thought if any 90 year old could pull off a necklace made of brass and yachting rope it would be Nana. She’s the second oldest person I know but still one of the most stylish.
I’m so happy we finally had an excuse to buy one of these local Cape Town necklaces, but more importantly that she loved it. Cool huh?

I thought these images from a new book called Subterranean London: Cracking the Capital were too amazing not to share, so I’ve finally come out of my blogging hibernation. Hello friends!
London is an amazing enough city above ground and although I knew of old tube stations and lines no longer in use, this book shows a beautiful insight into the city’s underground world. The work on the new Cross Rail system is also fascinating to see, as well as the old advertising that is still found in some of the stations.
