I’ve just bought these 3 beauties for my awesome little cousin Alex. He’s 5 and lives in Australia. I can imagine him rocking it out on his first day of school with a robot tattoo and a late watch. Cool!

960 Grid System

The 960 Grid System is an effort to streamline web development workflow by providing templates (12 or 16 columns) with commonly used dimensions, based on a width of 960 pixels.
It makes sense, it simplifies things and although it’s more of a Si thing than a my thing, I can appreciate how it would work for the benefit of everyone – designers and developers alike.
I will definitely be giving it a go with my next web project.

Yay! Finally something on Nowness to enjoy!
I usually skip over their emails when they pop into my inbox, but today I found some amazing photos and a cool article about Francis Ford Coppola’s Belizean resort Blancaneaux Lodge. It made me want to go back to Belize – definitely one of the most beautiful and understated countries I’ve been to.

I only recently discovered Design Chat – a weekly video and text-based conversation for the creative community, and I have to say it’s rather good. All the podcasts are available to download on iTunes and it’s so cool to listen to how other people work and how they came to be doing what they’re doing today.
I’m still trying to catch up with them all, but last night I finally got around to listening to the über-talented (and very sweet) Jessica Hische talk about how she got into type and illustration which was great, and I’ve also listened to the insanely-inspiring Swiss Miss chat (my hero!) and next on my list is Eight Hour Day.
