Here’s a happy start to Monday morning. DIY Emoji Balloons. Aren’t they amazing?
Check out the cutest tutorial ever on Studio DIY on how to make your own.
I love that Kelly (the founder of Studio DIY) is so obsessed about these little guys that they’re now living in her car because her better half Jeff won’t let them back in the house! Awww!

What a way to end the week! Thank you Alex (aka Fuzzy Wobble) for building such a weird and awesome site.
Check out my dance floor here.

I meant to write about Australian sculptor and artist Dion Horstmans a long time ago but at usual, got distracted somewhere along the way…
The good news is however, that yesterday one of my all time favourite websites The Design Files featured Dion’s home and reminded me to show you guys how awesome his work is. I absolutely love his geometric sculptures and the fact that are a lot of them are neon is an added bonus!
If you have a minute take a look at Dion’s work (Bub, I’m thinking 3rd year anniversary art…?!) and be sure to check out the amazing stuff happening over at The Design Files. The designers, brands, products and homes they feature are the ultimate in design inspiration.

I love these traditional Wooden Blocks on the MoMA Store.
What I love more though, is that they come in English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean and Italian.
What an amazing way for little kids to learn the basics of different languages.

Eek I’m too excited!
So here’s the deal. We finally bought some coloured cord and this weekend I’ll be making some pendent lights. Yay!
After fretting because the coloured cord company I found in the States didn’t ship overseas and the one in London had rubbish colours, I eventually discovered an even better company right here in the Mother City.
Hoi P’loy is a small, but awesome studio specialising in vintage light bulbs and fabric covered electrical cable. They have a massive range of amazing colours, lots of fittings and accessories and their lightbulbs are just beautiful.
Oh, and their packaging is letterpressed. Seriously. Letterpressed packaging.
I am so in love with this brand — along with our Emerald, Beetroot and B/W Zigzag cord. Yippee!
Stay tuned for more light updates…

I’ve been waiting to post about the most amazing Lost My Name book so I could surprise our little Munchkin with his when he arrived today!
These books are incredible. They are absolutely gorgeous. They’re sweet and funny and beautifully illustrated and I’ve already bought 2. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love them ♥.
The story is based around a child (choose a little girl or boy) who must embark upon an adventure to discover the letters that make up their name. Whether it’s an A for Aadvark or a R for robot, each story is unique and tells of a magical journey.

I also love this shot by my Dad.
He’s just joined 500px and I’m waiting in anticipation for more photo uploads.

Way more fun that your average backpack, no?

We started using Flickr right before we left London in 2007 to go travelling, and it’s been my friend ever since.
Photojojo’s Timecapsule is just one of the reasons it’s so amazing – every 2 weeks we get an update of photos from the same time last year which is beyond cool. You can also send messages to yourself in the future.
Anyway, this week Yahoo launched their new and improved site and I have to say I love it. Admitedly I haven’t had a good play yet, but I love the layout and being able to view all of our photos in one long stream.
Flickr, you will forever have my heart (along with 7000 of our most favourite photos that I will continue to add too). xx

I’m sorry for ignoring you! London has been keeping me busy, work has been keeping me busy and I’m only just about finding time to visit friends and sleep in between.
I have so many exciting things to blog about and it’s driving me crazy that I can’t find the time. I promise I’ll try a bit harder…
This Bee cushion is over on Society6 (who incidentally have free worldwide shipping from today until Sunday).

A Long Forever Love is awesome.

Have you ever thought about making your own robot? I mean … not just any old robot, but the coolest and most awesome robot you could ever possibly imagine?
Well … now you can. Hooray!
My Robot Nation lets you design and create your very own robot which they 3D print and send to you. How amazing is that?
You can choose from 5 different size options, and from what I tell the possibilities are pretty much endless.

This Smile Print by The Lepolas made me smile this morning.
Couldn’t help it!

Why yes, I do believe it is!
Check out more Cupookie cupcakes and cookies here.

Sorry I’ve been slack with posting this week but our long, love weekend, combined with work has been keeping me a busy bee.
This Harland Miller Too Cool To Lose silkscreen did catch my eye yesterday though. Isn’t it awesome?

British musician Bonobo has enlisted the genius of regular B3TAN Cyriak for his new video Cirrus. It’s beautiful (in a weird and wonderful way) and if you haven’t already seen it, also check out Cyriak’s Cows & Cows & Cows video which is awesome.
Black Sands is one of my all time favourite albums and judging by Cirrus, The North Borders will also be amazing.
The other exciting news is that the Roundhouse and Ninja Tunes are presenting a Bonobo curated all day event, with a new live show by Bonobo on May 18th … and we just happen to be in London. Booked. Hooray!

Back in November I posted a video by the folks at Sugru.
We were so intrigued by the stuff we bought a bunch at Christmas, gave some away as presents and kept some for ourselves.
This is my first Sugru fix.
My brother and sister-in-law bought me the most amazing ring when they were in Venice on their honeymoon but the back fell off and I could never get another one to glue on properly. I had a couple of quotes from jewellers who said they’d have to remove the lead to set it properly, which meant it was going to be expensive to fix (and I liked the lead).
To be honest I was a little sceptical about how well it would work, so I went all out and actually made the full ring out of Sugru. As you can see it worked. Very well. Almost too well in fact! My next plan is to get rid of what I made, buy a small silver band and use a blob of Sugru to attach it to the glass so it’s a bit more delicate!
I’ll keep you posted.

I’m sure you’ve all read my posts about Yuppiechef in the past and it’s because of awesome little touches like this handwritten notecard/reusable postcard (plus another cute magnet for our fridge) they included in our order, that makes me love them so much.
Oh, and also that I placed my order on Sunday night and it was delivered Monday lunchtime. How’s that for service?
Thanks guys! Keep on rocking online shopping in South Africa!

My amazing husband’s company has just released Found SEO, a free app to help identify common SEO errors and potential SEO issues that may affect your site’s ranking.
It’s simple, sleek and extremely useful. Canonicalisation (I’d never heard of it before either!) meta-data, links, the works!

The attention to detail (and the details themselves!) are so good. Handwritten notes, lucky coins, certificates and magnets! It’s clever, cute and über-personal. I love it all and can’t wait to find some things to buy with my voucher. Woop!
If you want to see what we cooked – take a look at our YuppieChef entry here.

WeLove is a new online community that allows users to share and review interesting places and various niches in a city.
There’s a free app that’s used to rate or love a place or niche – whether it’s coffee, street art, sushi joints, artisan beer brewers or delicious places for breakfast, and every time you love or rate a location (or someone loves or rates a location you’ve added) you collect points. The more points you collect, the more influential you become.
It’s still quite a new startup and currently only available for Cape Town and Jo’burg, but I have a feeling they’re going to be huge.

Oh me oh my.
I’m going a little crazy with all these amazing Instagram products.
This Stitchtagram Clutch is too cool for school.
