Juergen Teller: Woo

16th January 2013

Awesome! I read this morning on Twenty6 Magazine that The Institute of Contemporary Art will be showing Juergen Teller, Woo between the 23 January 2013 – 17 March 2013.

I fell in love with his photography when I was 15, when I fell in love with Kate Moss.

The exhibition will show the journey through Teller’s fashion and commercial photography from the 90s, featuring the likes of Kurt Cobain, Sinéad O’Connor and Kate Moss amongst others, as well as more recent landscapes and family portrait work.

Wish we were going to be in London.

Neon Yellow Toe Cap Vellies

15th January 2013

Eek! These Neon Toe Kids Vellies are too cool for school.

Made by Schier Shoes who are based in Namibia, vellies are ancestors of the modern-day desert boot and these ones are made of vegetable-dyed Kudu leather.

The best bit?

They come in big sizes too!

14th January 2013

I just had to share with you guys another awesome present my little sister got me for Christmas (yes, she’s really, really cool!)

Meshu is a company that makes custom pendants and earrings based on journeys. My Meshu is made up of places I’ve travelled to over the last few years – from Australia to Mozambique. Each place is a point on my necklace. You can choose from Bamboo, Silver, Nylon and Acrylic and each piece comes with a postcard of your design in a little black box.

I love it.

lil’sprout New Year Sale!

10th January 2013

Yay! It’s our first ever sale at lil’sprout!

This is kind of a big deal for me, my brother and sister-in-law, so take a look guys and let us know what you think.

We’ve got 20% off all our babygrows and tees, as well as our 7 Days of the Week Giftbox sets.

We’ve had the best feedback and support since we started lil’sprout, which has made it all worthwhile and also means our 2013 collection will be available towards the middle of the year. Can’t wait!

PS. How absolutely gorgeous is my little nephew Maddox up there? xx

Max Raptor

9th January 2013

Finally I’ve got around to posting the design I did for British punk rock band Max Raptor.

Paying hommage to the Guatemalan folk saint Maximón with a bit of Día de los Muertos thrown in for good luck, the ‘MAXIMON’ Day of the Dead Sweater can be bought on the Max Raptor store.

These guys are seriously good so be sure to keep an eye out for their new album coming out later this year.

Share Neon

8th January 2013

I went a bit crazy for Gap over Christmas and popped into their shops whenever I was walking past. The block coloured cardis, stripy jumpers and amazing scarfs were done in the most awesome colours…and then came the Share Neon Kids campaign! Eek!

Firstly, SHARE. I’ve decided this will be my new word for 2013. I love it.

Secondly, NEON! Can I just say it took about 5 minutes to get that shot in between shoppers in one of HK’s busiest shopping centers over the Christmas holidays.

And finally – how sweet are these guys?

Between Friends ♥ Marta Rodkina-Sexton

31st August 2012

Between Friends
Marta Rodkina-Sexton

With 2 little boys, it’s amazing Marti has time to do anything creative, let alone start a new career. I think being a mother of 2 is inspiring enough as it is!

Russian born, London based Marta was a model before deciding she’d rather be behind the camera, and signed up to study Fashion Photography at London School of Fashion.

Fast forward a few years and inspired by her gorgeous boys, Marta started her own children’s clothing company sourcing vintage clothes and designing quirky and sweet, one-off pieces for kids.

6 years on her youngest is starting school, and although she still makes her Plus Fours on request (which are super, super cute!), she’s now concentrating on her true passion for teaching. That’s love, dedication and inspiration for you.

Thank you Marti!

Between Friends ♥ Lynn Cockburn

17th August 2012

Between Friends
Lynn Cockburn A.K.A. Lynnda Needles

Lynn is probably the most creative and unique person I know. Give her some yarn or a length of rope and she’ll turn it into a belt … or a jumper … or a dress … or a plant holder. Do you remember our crocheted Stag’s Head? Yep, well that was her.

She’s ridiculously motivated (I’m not sure she actually sleeps!), she researches like a woman possessed, and she also happens to be super, super cool.

Half of quirky London knitwear label a minute silence – when she’s not creating pieces for AMS, she designs and makes cool knotted accessories (think camera straps, bracelets and necklaces) for her store, O NÓ.

Oh, and that’s all in between her day job as a knitwear designer.

Lynn, we salute (and love!) you. Thank you for giving us the first Between Friends.

♥ Bonds

13th August 2012

Love these new Bonds Tote Bags.

If only Bonds could sort out their online payment system I’d buy one in every colour for my sister’s Christmas presents. Oh well.

Frog Feet

9th August 2012

Do you think these Frog Feet Booties come in large?

Bert Gilbert

9th August 2012

Central Saint Martin graduate Bert Gilbert is a true designer of all trades. Illustrator, film maker, art director, crafter…

Her paper nipple tassels were originally designed for a paper party pack for Coco de Mer, my all-time favourite lingerie shop, and you can now buy them from her shop and Luna & Curious.

“The postcard packs include everything you need for immediate nipple tassle action…” which is perfect if you want to check how well you can swing those tassels before shelling out for a Swarovski pair.

Gwen Stefani x Terry Richardson

8th August 2012

From the first time I heard I’m Just A Girl, I loved Gwen Stefani. She always looks immaculate in her own unique way and becomes more and more beautiful with age, which is inspiring!

There’s a great interview with her in the September issue of Harper’s Bizarre, along with a wicked shoot by Terry Richardson.

Check out more here.

1st August 2012

London Olympics / Colour

24th July 2012

The countdown to the Olympic Opening Ceremony is on, with only 3 days left until London kicks off it’s biggest party ever.

Despite having a rubbish logo (how on earth they agreed on that is beyond me), I’m super excited and can’t wait to watch the Opening Ceremony (one of our friends is actually in it!) on Friday night.

Here’s a colour inspired collection to celebrate the Olympics and a few other things that might come in handy if you’re lucky enough to have scored some tickets.

Let the Games begin!

1. Wallpaper* City Guide App – London – Make sure your phone is charged
2. Photojojo iPhone Ultimate Kit – 4 lenses, a mini tripod and a sexy case
3. Toms Classic Palmetto flat shoes – Comfy and pretty

4. Filey Bay North Yorkshire, 2007 by Rob Carter – English countryside at it’s best
5. Havaianas in Green/White – Celebrate Summer
6. Tattly Temporary Tattoo Camera 3

7. Cloud Key Holder – Because it’s not going to rain, is it?
8. Bobble Water Bottle – Fill up anywhere – these filters actually work
9. Canon IXUS 115 HS – Maybe with an extra charged battery?

10. Eastpack Backpack – Easy to find and good for keeping all your stuff together
11. Binoculars with Built-In Sun Filter – A little optimism never hurt anyone
12. Ray-Ban Wayfarers in Yellow – Hello, sunshine!

13. British Language & Culture Guide – ‘Av a Butchers, innit
14. Umbrella (just in case) – This is London afterall
15. Tattly Temporary Tattoo Sunglasses

Ayami Nishimura by RANKIN

20th July 2012

The second book in the RANKIN Beauty Collaboration set features the work of Ayami Nishimura, a Japanese-born London-based make-up artist. The first book features work by make-up artist Alex Box.

Nishimura’s work is eccentric and eye-catching and I can’t think of a better photographer than RANKIN to capture that quirkiness.

I can’t wait for this book to hit the shelves.
